Superpositional builds a continuously updated model of a codebase and uses it to tell engineering teams what a change actually affects. It indexes repositories at function level, extracting code entities, dependency graphs, architectural boundaries, semantic embeddings and documentation, then keeps that model current rather than rebuilding context per session. Three things sit on top of it. Pull request impact analysis judges each change against the live system model rather than the diff alone, flagging regression risk, architectural drift, dependency impact and stale documentation before merge. Incident tracing works backwards from an incident to the commit and the line that caused it, through the dependency chain. An MCP server exposes the whole model so AI coding agents such as Claude, Cursor and Copilot can query structured system context instead of raw file dumps. The positioning is explicitly about AI-assisted development. AI makes individual developers faster, and the argument is that teams then lose track of what all those changes touch.
